AUTHENTIC
The LV padlock has points to lookout for to make sure it is authentic. The front have the standard engraved “LV” logo and the back should have 3 different styled stamps. These stamps are:
LOUIS VUITTON - PARIS - MADE IN FRANCE
LOUIS VUITTON - MADE IN FRANCE
LOUIS VUITTON - PARIS
If a padlock has "Made in Paris" stamped, it is a fake. Make is always followed by the country, not the city. The engraved “LV” has also a distinct font and depth.
3XX padlocks are made before 2009 and 4XX are padlocks made after 2009. Newer padlocks are using 3XX again. The key should also have the correlating numbers. Be careful of “309” and “488” as it is often seen in counterfeit padlocks.
The standard size for a LV padlock is:
W 0.8 ” x H 1.6”
